Draft, Analyse and Present with Microsoft 365 Copilot
What you will be able to do afterwards
Almost everyone has now seen a Copilot demo. Very few people have changed how they work because of one. The gap is not enthusiasm and it is not capability. It is that nobody has sat down with them, in their own documents, and shown them where it fits, how to ask for what they want, and how to tell when the answer is wrong.
That is the whole day. You leave with a way of working, not a list of features.
Why learn it with us rather than free
The Microsoft Learn modules behind MS-4018 are free and public, and if you are disciplined you can work through them. What almost nobody does is finish them, because there is no deadline and no one is waiting. What a course gives you is a day where nothing else can interrupt, a trainer who can answer the question the documentation does not, and, more useful than either, examples pointed at the work in front of you rather than at a fictional company.
It also gives you someone to ask three weeks later, when you have hit the thing that makes people quietly give up.
What the day covers
Seven modules and an introduction, delivered in one day. The timings below are Microsoft’s own estimates from the Trainer Preparation Guide, not ours, so you can see exactly where the day goes. Each module ends with knowledge check questions, and each has hands-on Use Case exercises that sit in the Microsoft Learn student content rather than in the slides.
The shape is deliberate. It starts with how Copilot actually works and where its answers come from, because everything afterwards makes more sense once you know that, then moves through Chat and app by app.
Get ready to work with Microsoft 365 Copilot
What Copilot is, and how a response is actually assembled from your prompt, your work data, the app you are sitting in and sometimes the web. Work IQ, the intelligence layer that connects signals across your emails, files, meetings and chats. Where Copilot lives and where to start for a given task. Enterprise Data Protection, including the plain statement that your prompts, responses and data are not used to train Microsoft’s models. Then the four-element prompting framework, a weak-versus-strong prompt worked through side by side, and practical prompting tips.
Unlock productivity and unleash creativity with AI-powered chat
Copilot Chat as the starting point for most workflows. How grounding works and how to direct it: work data for internal context, the web for external, or both. Copilot Search. The model selector, and when to use Quick response against Think deeper. Prompt Coach for building better prompts. Personalising your Copilot experience, bringing your own files into a conversation, and saving the output into Copilot Pages so the work survives the chat window.
Build effective presentations with AI
Planning the narrative with Idea Coach before a single slide exists, which is the part most people skip. Generating a first draft from multiple source files, then refining: rewrite options, a narrative review that finds the gaps, and building a visual story with generated and brand images. Speaker notes worth reading, an executive summary, and rehearsing with Speaker Coach.
Draft impactful documents using AI
Where to start in Word, and a direct comparison of a generic prompt against a detailed one. Drafting grounded in referenced files, emails and meetings rather than from nothing. Then elevating it: rewriting and reviewing, visualising content as a table, chatting with Copilot about the document you are in, and summarising. Finishing with the Writing Coach agent to strengthen tone, clarity and quality before anyone else sees it.
Make your meetings more productive with AI
The full meeting lifecycle. Before: preparing with Copilot in Outlook, drafting pre-meeting messages, catching up on chats, channels and files. During: configuring Copilot and Facilitator settings, using Copilot without recording, and the Facilitator agent running a live agenda timer, shared AI notes and automatic task capture. After: Intelligent Recap, navigating a recording by topic, the Speakers view, and audio recap for people in other time zones.
Uncover new data insights with AI
Setting the workbook up so Copilot can actually help, which is where most first attempts fail. Exploring data, surfacing what matters, and adding external context from the web. Choosing the right Copilot mode in Excel: chat only to explore without touching the workbook, plan to review the approach before it acts, or allow editing for a full multi-step change. Formulas without writing code, PivotTables for large sets, going deeper with Python for forecasts, regression and specialised charts, and the Analyst agent for working across several files at once.
From inbox to impact: improve your email workflows with AI
Treating email as a workflow rather than a queue. Triaging the inbox with Copilot, summarising long threads and attachments. Writing a genuinely engaging email, personalising drafts with persistent Custom Instructions so you stop re-explaining your style, and getting coaching on a message before you send it. Then scheduling meetings straight from a thread, generating a focused agenda to go in the invite, and handling post-meeting follow-ups and reminders.
Who this course is for
A good fit if you are
Not the right course if
What is included
Genuinely hands-on
This is not a day of watching slides. Three and a half of the day’s hours are spent in eight labs, and they build on each other rather than standing alone, so what you finish with is one working app rather than eight disconnected fragments. That is what makes the skill stick once you are back at your desk.
Three ways to take it
Online
Live with a real trainer and full class interaction, scheduled regularly, delivered through Microsoft Teams. Same trainer, same exercises and same courseware as the classroom. £249 per person excluding VAT, or three interest-free instalments of £99.60 with Klarna.
In person
Small cohorts at our UK training venues, and the side conversations that make training stick.
Onsite / closed
At your offices, using your own documents, your own data and your own processes as the examples. For this course in particular that is worth a great deal, because the whole point is applying Copilot to your work rather than to a sample file. Microsoft packages the seven module decks individually precisely so a trainer can reweight the day, so if your finance team needs an extra hour on Excel and the Analyst agent and very little PowerPoint, that is what they get. Best value from four people upwards. Ask for a quote.
Self-paced (Launching soon)
On-demand modules to work through at your own pace. Register your interest and we will let you know when it goes live.
What it costs to not do it
Microsoft 365 Copilot is not a cheap add-on, and it is charged per person per month whether or not that person opens it. That is the uncomfortable arithmetic behind almost every Copilot rollout we see: the licences went on the bill in one go, and the usage arrived slowly or not at all. Nobody is doing anything wrong. They simply were not shown where it fits.
The shape of it is always the same. A pilot group gets licences. Two or three of them are naturally curious and get somewhere. The rest try it twice, get a bland answer to a vague question, decide it is overhyped, and go back to working the way they did before. Six months later somebody asks what the return has been, and the honest answer is that most of the seats have barely been touched.
A day of training costs a fraction of what those seats cost over a year, and it is the difference between a licence that sits there and a licence that saves somebody an hour a day. It is worth doing that sum for your own headcount before deciding this is an expense.
There is a second cost that is easier to miss. People who are not taught how to check an answer eventually send one out unchecked. A summary that missed the caveat, a number that was confidently wrong, a tone that was not theirs. Teaching a team where Copilot is reliable and where it needs a human is not a nice-to-have alongside the productivity case. It is most of the point.
The course led by Matt, which gave an overview of using Copilot across all Microsoft products, has been of great benefit. It’s easy to see how the world is changing and technology is moving forward, and Copilot will be a big part of this for Microsoft users. Matt used good examples and answered all questions regarding how it can be used in our own work situations. The following day, I was able to make a PowerPoint deck, having never used it before. Using Copilot in Outlook, I was able to write emails in Japanese to our parent company without having to use a translator app. After seeing how Copilot can greatly reduce the burden of admin, I have already upgraded to the Professional version. I would recommend this course to anyone using Microsoft products or has an interest in finding out more about Copilot.
Week two is where this is won or lost
Everyone is enthusiastic on the day. The question is whether the new habit survives contact with a busy fortnight, and that usually turns on having somewhere to take the first problem you hit.
Trainer email support
Email our support team with the questions that come up as you apply it to your own reports. Not a ticket queue, and not a chatbot. The people who teach you, answering the thing you are actually stuck on.
The learner community
A private community for people who have trained with us, with a board for each technology. Ask questions, read what others have hit, and get answers from our trainers and other delegates. Your access does not expire when the three months do.
Where this fits
The Copilot learning path
PL-7001 is the introduction. Here is what comes before and after, so you land in the right place.
MS-4002 Security & compliance
The administrator’s course. Permissions, oversharing, sensitivity labels and the governance work that decides whether a Copilot rollout is safe. Best done before the licences land, not after.
MS-4018 Draft, analyse and present
A day in the apps your team lives in, turning a licence into a working habit. This is the course that changes what Monday looks like.

Ask before you book
Tell us what you are trying to get out of Copilot and what licences you have. If MS-4018 is right we will say so, and if you would get more from the administrator’s course, from a readiness conversation, or from waiting until the licences are in place, we will say that instead.
Onsite & closed courses
For four or more people, onsite is usually better value, and for this course it is also better training: we can use your own documents, your own data and your own processes as the examples, and reweight the day towards the apps your team actually lives in.
Not sure MS-4018 is right, or want it for your team?
These are the two conversations we have most often about this course. One is someone checking whether the licence they have will actually let them do the exercises. The other is someone with a department’s worth of Copilot seats and very little to show for them.
Both start the same way. Tell us where you are and a trainer will come back to you, usually the same working day.
If MS-4018 is right for you, we will say so. If the honest answer is that your licences are not in place yet, or that the security groundwork should come first, we will say that instead.

Genuinely hands-on
Three and a half hours of the day are spent in eight labs, and they build on each other. You leave with one working app, not eight fragments.
Trainers who do the job

We say when not to book
If the free App in a Day is enough, or you really need PL-400, we will tell you. Right course over any course.

I really enjoyed this course and found it genuinely helpful. Everything was explained clearly with practical examples, and I came away feeling much more confident about using Copilot day to day. Definitely worth doing.
Really insightful training course that has equipped myself and my team to start building our own AI agents.
