Design and manage analytics
solutions using Power BI
What you will be able to do afterwards
By the end of the three days you can take a model that barely holds together and turn it into analytics the whole organisation can rely on: calculations that reflect how the business actually works, a model that stays fast as data grows, and reports that are secure and properly shared.
Why learn it with us rather than free
The PL-300 material is on Microsoft Learn, free, and if you are self-motivated you can work through it.
What a course gives you is pace, a trainer who can answer the DAX question the documentation does not, and hands-on labs on realistic business data rather than sample sets. It is mapped to the exam and includes a practice exam and voucher, so preparing and sitting the certification are built in.
If you have never opened Power BI, our DP-605 or the free Dashboard in a Day is a better place to start, and we will say so.
What the three days cover
The course follows Microsoft’s official PL-300 curriculum and prioritises hands-on labs over slides, so you spend most of each day working in Power BI. Day two is deliberately weighted towards DAX and modelling, the material that separates PL-300 from an introductory course.
Get started with Microsoft data analytics
The analyst role, how Desktop, the service and mobile fit together, and where Power BI sits in Fabric.
Get data in Power BI
Connect to relational and non-relational sources, choose the right storage mode, and profile your data.
Clean, transform and load data
Shape data in Power Query: rename, split and format columns, handle nulls, and append or merge tables.
Configure a semantic model
Star schema, relationships, cardinality and cross-filter direction, and hierarchies.
Create DAX calculations
Measures, calculated columns, and calculated tables, and when to use each.
Modify DAX filter context
Use CALCULATE and related functions so measures behave the way the business intends.
Use DAX time intelligence
Period comparisons, running totals, and year-to-date logic.
Create visual calculations
Add calculations on the visual for cleaner, faster reporting.
Design Power BI reports
Layout and accessibility, choosing the right visual, and filtering at every level.
Enhance reports for the user experience
Navigation, bookmarks, tooltips, and interactivity.
Perform analytics in Power BI
The Analyze feature, grouping and binning, and Q&A.
Get started with Copilot in Power BI
Speed up report building and query your data in natural language.
Manage workspaces & semantic models
Roles, scheduled refresh, endorsement, and lineage.
Choose a content distribution method
Apps, sharing, and the right route for your audience.
Secure data access
Implement static and dynamic row-level security.

What is included
Genuinely hands-on
This is not three days of watching slides. Most of the syllabus is practical labs, so you spend the majority of your time building in Power BI yourself, which is what makes the skill stick once you are back at your desk.
Three ways to take it
Online

What it costs to not do it
Most organisations already own Power BI inside their Microsoft licences and use only a fraction of it. The cost is not the course, it is the analyst rebuilding the same measures by hand, models that slow to a crawl as data grows, sensitive numbers shared too widely because there is no row-level security, and analytics stuck with one or two people because nobody else can manage or extend it.
One person who can model data properly, write DAX for real business logic, and secure and share what they build usually pays the course back inside the first project, and comes away certified to prove it.
That is the honest maths, and it is why designing analytics people trust is worth three days of anyone’s time.
I completed the PL-300 Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst with Vantage 365 Training. The 3 day course (full days) were packed with all of the learning material that you need to complete the certification after you finish. The trainer was Julain Sharp who who ran the course and has all of the knowledge and experince you need and can advise on any questions rasied on the material presented, or real world questions that were asked during the sessions. The course was run online via Microsoft Teams, but that did not distract from the class interaction during the sessions. Full marks to Vantage 365 Training services and thank you once again for such a great course.
The course ends. The support does not.
The hard questions rarely arrive on the day. They turn up a fortnight later, on your own data, when something will not behave. Both of these are included in the price.
Trainer email support
Email our support team with the questions that come up as you apply it to your own reports. Not a ticket queue, and not a chatbot. The people who teach you, answering the thing you are actually stuck on.
The learner community
A private community for people who have trained with us, with a board for each technology. Ask questions, read what others have hit, and get answers from our trainers and other delegates. Your access does not expire when the three months do.

Ask before you book
Tell us what you already do with data and what you are trying to get to. If PL-300 is right we will say so, and if a free session or DP-605 suits you better, we will say that instead.
Onsite & closed courses
For three or more people, onsite is usually better value, and we can use your own data and the reports your team actually needs to build.
Not sure PL-300: Design and manage analytics
solutions using Power BI is the right course?
Tell us a little about where you are with Power BI and what you are trying to get to. A trainer will come back to you, usually the same working day.
If DP-605, the free Dashboard in a Day, or a different route suits you better, we will say that instead.

What you get that you will not get everywhere
Genuinely hands-on
Four of the six sections are practical labs. You spend the day building in Power BI, not watching slides.
Trainers who do the job
A Microsoft Certified Trainer who spends the rest of the week consulting on the platform they teach. Real questions get real answers.
Real prices, published
Every course shows its price and what is included. No “contact us for pricing”, no surprises.
We say when not to book
If DP-605 or the free Dashboard in a Day is the right start, we will tell you. Right course over any course.

Did an in-depth Power BI course with Vantage. Admin was great, course also great enabling me to give me a good start to using Power Bi. Mix of training and labs with labs available after the course has helped me when I wasn’t able to jump onto Power Bi straight after training. Vantage very responsive and helpful.
